My piece questions what happens when private spaces are not safe spaces. How do we address this issue? Specifically, I am raising awareness about ACE's, which the CDC is calling a public health crisis. I am also influenced by about Donna Hylton's book, "A Little Piece of Light." She addresses the relationship between ACE's and incarceration. Recently over seventeen hundred children died from abuse in a twelve-month period.
